Love Notes

~Taken from the Archives of October 2006

Just wanted to share what happened last Friday. It was homecoming here in Gilman and i was a little apprehensive, i admit, now that we live the school district Jason teaches in, i wondered if we would get toilet papered or anything crazy. So Friday morning i quick peeked out the window in the living room before Jason got up to see if anything was unusual.

Whadya know, there was a huge spraypainted note on the brick street facing our house. So I ran out and read it. I came back in and told Jason before he walked out, there was a love note for him outside. I watched out the window as he left that morning and watched a huge smile cover his face as he read it: Band Rocks My Socks! It was just what he needed from his kids.

This year has started out with alot of discouragement for him as his numbers in the highschool band and chorus are down. We don't have enough in band to march this year and that has been disappointing. With the scheduling, it's more important the kids take college prep classes and this makes it difficult to take the fun ones. He's doing well with his small group, and has made the best of it, i'm so proud of him.

But once again, I'm humbled and amazed how God hears our every heart cry and knows our every need. God is love and His never fails. He will always meet us where we are and will always provide us with exactly what He knows is best. It may not always be a huge spraypainted love note on the street in front of your house, it may be a small quiet whisper or just one word from someone else. Just know that God hears and He knows...and has His arms of love wrapped around you at all times.
