Well.....it's been one eventful night here in our neighborhood.
We got home after visiting my grandparents to cops crawling all over the town
and people standing everywhere. Jason and I had driven seperate and I had the kids.
The closer I got to our house, I saw more cops. You that feeling in your stomach you
get.....the closer you get, the more you don't really want to find out if it's something
or someone you know?
SO, I go to turn in the alley by our house and I can't get in to go to our house. It's blocked
by 4 cop cars!!! Flashing lights filling our yard....not a good sign. So I back up and go to the
neighbors that are standing outside. (not knowing if Jase was home yet..he had left a little bit
before me) She told me a car was speeding, then kept running from the cops. They then stopped and ran on foot. Nice story I thought...no big deal, got in my car and came home the other
way....pulled in the driveway and realized:
The suspect car was left right beside our garage with the passenger door open
and still running with lights on!!!!!!!!!! So spooky........
So I run to the house and Jason is inside and tells me to get back in the car while he finishes
searching our house......oh my goodness......and then I'm frozen....I want to run inside and protect
my husband if the suspects are in our house and I want to go back to the car with the kids.
So I freeze and just stand halfway between car and halfway between house. I hear the dogs
barking.....yes, they had 3 different county cops, 3 different colored uniforms, and the dogs.....
Soon Jason comes out and says, the coast is clear.....I was just praying the whole time.
I'm telling ya.......creepy.......so we assume they will soon start searching houses in our block
if they don't find them soon. The cops had told Jase when he got here to get in the house
and stay in the house. So we get the process started of putting the kids to bed and the whole time the cops are walking by the bedroom windows with flashlights and you can hear
them talking and their walky-talkys jabbering away. Did I say creepy????
We get the kids to bed and Jase heads outside to chat with the 6 cops and scary sounding dog.
They inform him everything is okay, but don't give him any details. This answer isn't good enough for me and I tell him, "Well, tell him I am a mama with 2 small kids and I want better answers than that!!!" To which he calmly replies...."Honey, everything really is okay."
Still not satisfied, I call my friend that lives 1 block over. She informs me the cop
just stopped at their house and told them the 2 suspects were in custody. They were found
in their own home.....apparantly somewhere close by here. This gets me even more fired up.
Why wouldn't the cops that are right outside our house......RIGHT BY THE CRIME SCENE...
give us details?????? Did she really have her info right?????
So we watch and sure enough....
the dog gets put back in the car, the cops all light up cigarettes and stand there all casual like.
Soon they start taking pictures of the vehicle in the exact same spot, door still open, lights
still shining into our yard....creepy. My friend said they were just waitin for the vehicle to be
towed. I just checked out the back door: The cops are all gone, but the vehicle remains. The door
is shut now but the lights are still on......just creeps me out.
Jason hugs me and says, "It's okay honey." So I pray some more and have a little ale to calm
my tummy..........and will try to go to sleep tonite. Seriously.....just too much excitement for a Friday night here in our neighborhood. The warm 70 degree weather today, getting woken up and called into work on my day off, Gabe peeing all over the floor and his new tricycle, and having my windows open in my house was too much excitement all initself......
I really didn't need anything else.
I really can't wait to hear who the no-minded nincompoops were that tried to run from the cops, thenran to their own home. And I can't wait to hear what the price of that crime is!!!!!

Love,

The "price of the crime" probably won't be much, sad to say.
