Kids

We just got done with another amazing weekend.
It entailed:

2 big cookouts, one with friends, other with family
LOTSA good food AND desserts ;)
lotsa Baggo, cornhole, whatever you want to call it
diggin' into God's Word and deep discussion
lotsa laughter

Lil Miss Ellie is cutting more teeth and possibly had a bug...we're still not sure. She had high temp starting Friday night during our big family get together at Monicals.....She was LAYING on us on the rest of the weekend and slept ALOT! The only time our kids EVER do this is when they don't feel good.

The great part of this is we actually get to enjoy rocking and holding our kids instead of them moving and ON THE GO continually. Gabe eventually just said, "Rock me! Me baby!" As in: I see you holding Ellie all the time, so I want to too! So he actually felt fine but let us rock him too....it was precious and sweet despite Ellie's fussiness.

She never seemed real hungry yesterday but I still pushed the baby food (big mistake) thinking my little girl needed to eat. But by last night she just threw it up and so the Tylenol and Motrin didn't stay down either anymore. Way to go Mommy! Wow, hopefully I will never do that again! So with her temperture up at 102, Bless Daddy's heart, he drove to our closest 24 hour pharmacy last night at 10:00 and got us the good stuff. Yes....we got to experience suppositories for the first time with our baby. It was not fun....but did the trick.

By tonite Ellie was fever free. Praise God! We got our miracle yesterday morning too....how could I forget to mention that?!?!?!!? She had 101 and I started praying, called Jason home from church....they were praying....he came home and prayed.....she was very out of it. Not moving, just laying, TOTALLY abnormal for her. No smiles....nothing. It's so sad to see yer babies like this. We put her down for her nap and when she awoke she was laughing, smiling, moving around like her normal self. So we took her to church and testified. And the whole time Jason talked with her in the front of church, she giggled and tried to take the microphone outa his hands.....it was soooooo good to see. So we praise God for that miracle....even if it only lasted half a day and she felt bad again last night....I believe that God allows things to happen for a purpose. If anything...to strengthen our faith and continue trusting in the Almighty Father.

No, the kids haven't been on a combine ride yet. WE have to get up North during Harvest, but with Heath's schedule I don't know when that will happen.

So often the hard times in our life push us closer to God...and there's nothing harder than when your kids are sick & you can't physically do anything for them to make them better...in those times, praying is the one and only thing you can do, and it helps you understand how to pray without ceasing like the Bible talks about =) Yippee on the experience with the suppossitories....I made it through all the kids without the blessing of those!!...lol We'll keep praying for little miss Ellie =) Love you!!!

Kinley has had the same kind of bug at the same time. I thought he might be teething too but he had the high temp and now it seems to have turned into a cold. I keep praying over him too.
