Don't Blink

Jase and I are always talking about what we're gonna do when the kids grow up, move out,
and he can retire. We love to dream about getting a motor home & a super "souped up" golf cart and traveling all over.......but we're also enjoying this season too.

Lately, I've gotten into the habit of rocking Ellie to sleep at night.....because I blinked somewhere along the line....and she's almost 2. Our baby is almost 2.............and there's another on the way. And as much as I'm excited to meet our new little one and get into that season again......I'm wistfully sad that I blinked and forgot to linger in the rocking chair more.

I've also been crawling into bed with Gabe after I rock Ellie for awhile. I love talking to him and snuggling in. I love his little personality that is growing every day........I love how I can have fun conversations with him. I love how he picks up new things every day and how independent he's getting. But I'm wistfully sad, that somewhere along the line......I blinked......and our firstborn son is becoming a little man boy.

So I thought of this song tonite.....wanted to share it with you....and I'm gonna quit blinking!!!

Fantastical Friday

The fall garage sales have officially started in our community....I decided to be adventurous and take both monkies with me this morning. And we had a GREAT TIME and the weather was perfectly beautiful!! Thank You Jesus!!!!

Most of you that know me, know that I don't take both kids with me wherever I go because they are literally bundles of monkey energy!!!!! So they got rewarded with going to the park....then going to visit Uncle Isaac at his new job and buy a bouncy ball there. Then we went out to lunch with him and got french fries!!!! (always a treat for our kids)

While I was garage saling this morning, Mom hit one of our favorite second hand kids' stores......so now I really have PILES of laundry going...nice to get their fall/winter wardrobe going since the cool weather seems to have come early this year.

The picture above is HUGE BLESSING PILES.....I got it all for less than $50....(not counting the clothes Mom got) the booster seat in the backround for $2, a Monsters Inc. sleeping bag for $1,
and the rest of the clothes all NAME BRAND.....God is so good!

And then of course I ALWAYS hit the garage sales that INCLUDE BAKED GOODS!!! I just can't seem to stay away.....These are the yummiest gingerbread cookies ever!!! I have bought them from her before and the longer they sit, the softer they get.....amazing! I didn't get a picture but I also got the most amazing caramel pecan rolls too!!!

Hava happy weekend!!!! Hugs and smooches from all the monkies!

Pictures-Monkey See,Monkey Do

If Gabe is playing with his dog, "Snoopy", Ellie is sure to be there too....
If Gabe is going potty.....then Little Miss thinks she must attend the bathroom festivities too!

If Gabe runs thru the house......

Then Ellie is not far behind......

If Gabe is tired and sits down on the floor for a rest....

Then Ellie takes a break too ;)

If one monkey thinks it's funny to wrap their legs around Mommy's legs, then OF COURSE...
the other monkey must join in to see just how long they can prevent their Mama from walking!

If Gabe wears a hat......

Then Ellie wars a hat.....(she's also convincing him he NEEDS to carry a purse also!)

If Gabe wants to sit in the sun....then so does Ellie....never ever ever a dull moment at our house!

Sunday Sermon Snippets

"10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints..."
~Ephesians 6

1---You gonna stand there and whine or WIN the battle?

2---All armor listed above IS NECESSARY for the battles we are fighting in our lives.
Don't expect to win on your own....without the equipment.

3---The breastplate is so important to protect your heart and what you let in it...because what is in our hearts does come out whether you like it or not....it just does.

4---Always choose the shoes of peace......not those of an angry fighter.

5---The shield of faith: We can't do this battle without faith...it just doesn't work.

6---The helmet is crucial to protecting your brain....for the brain is the battle ground satan loves to attack the mostest and the hardest!!!

I dedicate today's post to my dear friend Patty who is fighting hard.....to win the good fight.
And there's not a doubt in my mind that she's gonna come out on the winner's side!!!!

If You Want Me To...

The pathway is broken and the signs are unclear
And I don't know the reason why you brought me here
But just because You love me the way that
You doI will go through the valley if You want me to
Now I'm not who I was when I took my first step
And I'm clinging to the promise You're not through with me yet
So if all of these trials bring me closer to You
I will go through the fire If You want me to
It may not be the way I would have chosen
When you lead me through a world that's not my own
But You never said it would be easy
You only said I'll never go alone-

~If You Want Me To, Ginny Owens
