God's Provision

A pastor's wife was visiting our church today with her sister and got up to give an amazing testimony. Not long ago, God told their family to leave their nice home, nice school for the kids, church they loved in Mississippi and move to Massachussetts. The town where all the witchcraft stuff had went on..is it Salem?

Anyways, so they moved out of their comfort zone, sold all that they had and followed God's leading and completely went on faith. They had no jobs, no place to live, only 1 vehicle, not a whole lot of anything else. They moved to a town still being full of all the witchcraft hibity.
(signs on buildings everywhere, schools of it, talk about it) But they went...on faith.

She testifies today the many things that God provided thru their obedience to Him:

1-Someone called and gave her (the mom) a 2006 van!

2- The kids were going to have to attend a witchcraft school (because of the district they lived in) and she said no way but didn't know how else they would do it. She got a phone call within days of her prayers from someone saying they wanted to pay to send their kids to a Christian School in the area.

3-They needed health insurance...but couldn't afford it. It's a law in the state of Mass. that you can get big time penalized if you DON'T have it. Again, within days of prayer, someone called and said, "What is your biggest need right now?" They said, "Well, it's health insurance."
Again, their prayers were answered.

4- They found a beautiful home for a decent price.

She says the list goes on and these were just a few.
I was encouraged.
For here we sit with the possibility that one of our cars (the one we had paid off) is possibly totaled. We will hopefully find out more tomorrow.

But still my mind wants to be anxious. And all the negatives come to the surface.
We honestly cannot afford to buy another vehicle and go furgther in debt....we are trying to work at being debt free WHILE I continue to be a stay at home mama.
But I will focus on the positives.

- we still have 1 car that is in great condition
- a little less freedom is NOT going to hurt me.....i have to work hard at this one
-there are other people out their struggling with alot worse situations
- our kids are healthy
-we can afford to run our air conditioning on these hot humid days
-our cupboards are full of food
-in some countries, having the convience of 2 running vehicles is a luxuary
- in the big picture of life...this is very very very minor......

Because God will provide in all situations in life. And after hearing Melissa's testimony today....really do I need to be fretting that we may only be down to 1 car??????

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

Assassinate Fear

"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You."
Isaiah 26:3

"I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears." Psalm 34:4

"Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You." Psalm 56:3

"Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed...but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles." 2 Chron 32:7,8

"Fear not" appears 365 times in the Bible. Like a daily vitamin, God has provided just what we need to conquer our daily dreads. Faith in Jesus Christ and the promises of His Word will cause fear to flee. Instead of feeling terriorized, paralyzed, and hypnotized by our fear, faith galvanizes our character with courage. Assassinate fear through faith in a Great God. ~Dennis Rainey

Inchworm and Bugs

Well Ellie is officially an inchworm now as she gets around the "buggy" way.....
she does the inchworm army crawl and cracks us up. She has been getting into Gabe's toys
and frustrating him to where now he takes toys away from her....a whole new battle.
Another lesson to teach....it never stops with these little people. But it's worth it all, eh?

Especially when this morning Gabe comes running and throws himself into my lap
to tell me with big eyes all about a bug that he thinks is going to get him. (A big new fear
for him). So I calmly tell him he's fine and the bug is way over across the room and will not
get him. But him, being the very energetic, overly dramatic boy he is, proceeds to go on and on
with his spiel and won't let up. So Mommy promptly does whatever comes to mind first
that will distract him. I flare my nostrils and wiggle my nose very rapidly ( a pretty sight, let me
tell ya...a rare talent...most commonly know as rabbitnose).

He stops very abruptly with his story, his eyes get even larger and he leans over very far to look up my nose and say, "A bug! A bug!" Yeah, buddy, I bet there's bugs in my nose too...ha ha...very funny. Last time I checked they didn't call them bugs. I looked in the mirror because he had me traumitized then....there wasn't a bug in sight...or anything else of any matter.

Which goes to show overly dramatic boys have big imaginations ;)

Hava happy Friday! We're off to a family picnic in this lovely Illinois sauna -like weather.

Love n Hugs....Laura
