Well dear friends....the day has come....
My dear hubby has officially become countrified. BECAUSE: He has boughten his first piece of bluegrass music!!!!!! Which means it's almost country!!! I never ever ever in my long legged life thought I'd see the day that Mr. Jason Strough: MusicMan, would actually sit and listen to anything that even remotely sounded country. But he has. And it's the best story ever....He came to me and says this:
"Hey, honey, I think I have some music you would actually like. It's a neat group that is really talented called The Isaacs. You should listen to it. " (And I'm thinking, okay, we don't always agree on music, so really, could I really like it?) He also proceeds to take me to the computer and listen to the itunes he downloaded. I then proceed to look them up on YouTube and wow.....once again, I'm amazed and have a jillion goosebumps at this God given talent. Check them out....their voices are incredible. And to God be the glory...they are using them to praise Him.

I think I'm falling more in love with my hubby....and who knows...by this time next year he might be actually wearing boots!!! Yeehaa!

Stronger Warriors
So this afternoon I settled down with my blueberry scone (thanks mom!) and almond kiss coffee (thanks serendipity!) totally expecting a good time with God. Which it was...but He gave me a good kick in da rear too. He has been calling me to "step up" into the woman He is creating me to be and press in closer.....and in the process I have been rebelling, draggin my feet, and creating havoc in my own heart and those around me. Praise God for my dear hubby....even though He's far from perfect and can irritate me (because all men eventually do at some time or other, i'm convinced) he has truly covered me in prayer and surrounded me with it....been patient most of the time with me....and last night I finally had a break thru. I tend to build walls up around my heart when others hurt me and fling hurt back. (not good, very unGodly and Christlike) Then I go into a shell of self condemnation and wait for God to pull me back out. And He does...always. He is an amazing Father that never gives up on me. And He has given me the amazing gift of Jason....who helps me tear the walls back down and build the right kind of walls: those that keep the enemy out. We do this by getting back into the Word again, praying together, crying together and putting God back into the center. And slowly...I begin to believe God's Word again, that no matter what, His love doesn't change for me when I get down and out.
Satan had me to the point where I absolutley could not....no matter what....pray anymore. He told me the lie that I wasn't good enough, that my sins were horrible and unforgivable and I let him surround me with darkness. But praise be to God....He is bigger. His ways are better, huger, safer, and His light shines and darkness must flee. Thru lotsa tears and lotsa snotty kleenexes last night....Jason helped draw me back out....and helped me pray again. And we beat the devil up and kicked him out of our house. It was a hard workout...but totally worth it. So today, we rise up again by the grace of God...renewed on eagle's wings and sheltered in His love....and begin the race again. We fight the good fight and we accept kick in da rears...because this is what makes us stronger warriors.
I share this testimony with you for this reason:
1-To give God the glory...He is all powerful and a mighty Healer.
2- To encourage you to keep fighting the good fight.
3- To listen to those in your life who speak Truth to you even when you have a hard time believing it or don't really want to listen and accept.
4- Because God is too good to not share His goodness.

Pictures
Sometimes we wear pink...because it's finally growing on mommy ;)
MeeMaw got out the old fashioned horse....and Gabe loves it! He calls him Horsey.
The other morning I saw Gabe just laying underneath the coffee table and that is an unusual sight....him not moving....so when I got up closer, I saw why....he had stolen Ellie's passy and was acting like a baby. He never took a passy (thumb sucker) but he knows what to do now....it's actually a No-no....but he makes a game out of it.
MeeMaw is back in comission after her surgery...Praise God for speedy healing!!!
This is Gabe saying: "Don't forget to pray before you eat!"
Ellie's first time eating sweet potatoes....not too crazy about them yet ;)Dear Lord...
“Dear Lord, in the midst of much inner turmoil and restlessness, there is a consoling thought: maybe you are working in me in a way I cannot yet feel, experience or understand. My mind is not able to concentrate on you, my heart is not able to remain centered, and it seems as if you are absent and have left me alone. But in faith I cling to you. I believe that your Spirit reaches deeper and further than my mind or heart, and that profound movements are not the first to be noticed.
Therefore, Lord, I promise I will not run away, not give up, not stop praying, even when it all seems useless, pointless, and a waste of time and effort. I want to let you know that I love you even though I do not feel loved by you, and that I hope in you even though I often experience despair. Let this be a little dying I can do with you and for you as a way of experiencing some solidarity with the millions in this world who suffer far more than I do. Amen.”

Baba is Mama
Today was one of the happiest days of my life for 2 reasons....
#1 was on previous post....Happy Poopy Pants.
#2 is this: Gabe has always had a hard time with saying his 'M's...they come out like 'B's...weird, eh? So he calls the mower a bower and he calls me BaBa. I have really been working on this with him and today I thought maybe I'll try a different octave in speaking it.....hee hee...
So I upped my voice and did it all sing-songey and whadya know? The turkey TOTALLY matches my pitch and the syllables and says Mama alllllllllllllllllllllllll day looooooooong!!!!
I am so very happy. Interesting enough, he never had a problem with his 'D's so he has been saying Daddy for over a year now.....that was a long long wait for me......and so very worth it.

Happy Poopy Pants
I have never in my life been so happy to see a full diaper....Lil Miss Ellie has went 3-5 days ( i really lost track of time, so honestly don't know) with not pooping....and lotsa smelly gas!
Gabe never did this....he is Mister Consistent daily with his poo. So it was a whole new experience for me massaging the sphincter muscles of my poor little girl. I knew something wasn't right when she started fussing after eating the last couple days....as she has been the most content baby ever. It was so unlike her....so yesterday Mom did the dreaded duty I didn't want to do....she demonstrated the how and what.....but nothing happened. So this afternoon when she wouldn't settle down for her afternoon nap I thought maybe I should try again. She seemed so happy after I used the rectal thermometer....and I was so stinkin' scared I was gonna get poo flung in all directions...what a funny sight ;) But did she poo? Nope? But went right to sleep....so I have no idea what I did, but 2 hours later she woke up from her nap laughing and talking and filled her diaper to the brim....Hallelujah! I was a dancing crazy mama!!!! I pray Happy Poopy Pants returns again tomorrow!

Self Rejection
“Self-rejection is the greatest enemy of the spiritual life because it contradicts the sacred voice that calls us the ‘Beloved.’ Being beloved constitutes the truth of our existence.”
